🤝 Reconciliation Week Thank You 🤝
A huge thank you — Wela`lin, Yannkga, Ngaityalya — to all of our service families for your commitment to making your mark and walking alongside us in reconciliation throughout Reconciliation Week.
The donated wooden stumps look absolutely beautiful, and we cannot wait to see them varnished and incorporated into our learning environments. Thank you for helping us create meaningful spaces that reflect connection, culture, and community. ❤️🖤💛💙💚
We are so grateful for your support and contributions. ✨🌿

A huge thank you & shout out to IFA Sports! 💛
IFA Sports generously gifted our service two free tickets to a Broncos home game. As a management team, we chose to pass this amazing opportunity on to Henry, who absolutely loves his incursions with Coach Ash and gains so much from the program.
Henry`s participation in the classes has helped support the development of his gross motor skills, social skills, and interactions with his peers, making him a wonderful recipient of this special experience.
Henry`s family were thrilled and incredibly grateful to receive the tickets, and according to Dad, Henry had an absolute blast at the game! Seeing the joy and excitement this experience brought to him makes us so thankful for community partnerships like this.
Thank you, IFA Sports, for your generosity and for helping create such a memorable experience for one of our children and his family. A special mention to Coach Ash, who always goes above and beyond to ensure his incursions within our service are fun, interactive & beneficial to all children within our service!
Let`s go Broncos! 🏈

National Reconciliation Week 2026 ❤️
Join us as we celebrate and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and heritage during National Reconciliation Week.
This year, we are focusing on the theme "All In", which encourages us all to commit to reconciliation every day through our actions, learning, and relationships.
National Reconciliation Week is an opportunity to take time to learn about shared cultures, histories, achievements, and the ongoing journey towards reconciliation. To support this learning, we have created an interactive foyer display with books that encourage conversations about culture, respect, diversity, and appreciation of differences.
We invite our children, families, and educators to make a painted mark on a collection of wooden stumps during drop off & pick up, representing our individual commitments to reconciliation within our service. These stumps will then be cut, sealed, and repurposed within our outdoor environment to create yarning circles within our yards.
Our hope is that this space will encourage connection, group discussions, and storytelling, providing opportunity for us all to continue growing and deepening our cultural knowledge and understanding.

The group project in Juniors 2 is currently Jellyfish 🪼✨ and our J2 children are so excited to get amongst the creative side of making them and creating beautiful artwork along the way.
We love setting up creative experiences with a common goal or provocation in mind, allowing children the freedom to explore their own ideas, styles, and imaginations. It’s always so special to see the different ways each child approaches their artwork — from completely unique creations to similar pieces with their own little individual touches. Every piece of artwork is valued, celebrated, and encouraged within our Juniors space 💙
Their colourful creations are helping bring an ocean-inspired feel to their room, adding to the aesthetic presence within the space while showcasing their creativity and imagination 🌊✨
Next time you visit Juniors 2, have a go at guessing how many jellyfish you can find swimming around the room… you might be surprised! 👀🪼

Frequently Asked Questions
The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a government subsidy that offers different levels of financial assistance to help cover the cost of childcare for Australian families. How much you receive depends on your individual circumstances. Prior to enrolment, please make sure you are the registering parent under Centrelink for your child.
Find out more detailed information for Understanding CCS on our Resources page.
It is important that you ensure you say goodbye to your child when you leave and make sure that the teacher or educator in charge knows that you are leaving. We understand goodbyes can be hard for all involved however to continue building a safe and trusting relationship we strongly acknowledge that you say goodbye and not ‘slip away’ Our educators and teachers will acknowledge any feelings and emotions that you and your child may be having and support you throughout the entire process.
We find that attending ‘play dates’ before your child’s actual start date make those first initial drop offs’ easier for both child and guardian. This can help the child get used to their environment and educators and help yourself develop a bond with the educators.
As you are your child’s first teacher, you know best so when it comes to saying goodbye, rest time routines, settling techniques etc, we want to be made aware of what works for you and your family at home. Our teachers and educators will ask you for your advice and input and will also in return provide you with this information. At Little Locals we aim to provide an open-door policy and believe that communication is the key to any great relationship so please do not hesitate to ask any questions or provide feedback.
To remove as many hassles as possible for busy parents, the centre provides, hat, nappies, wipes, sunscreen, and all meals. We ask that you simply bring along; 2 x changes of clothes, hat, and a water bottle. If your child requires any medication or special creams, please ensure they are brought in labelled and with any applicable Action Plans.
As part of our commitment to learning, we conduct excursions out of the centre to follow on children’s interests. Prior to any excursion taking place, parents will be advised in writing with all the required information about the planned excursion. No excursion will take place until we have received written consent from families.
Here at Little Locals we believe that our children will benefit most from improved sustainability practices so we are always ensuring that we provide children with support and ways in which they can learn to care and show respect for the environment. At Little Locals we teach children how to care for our environment by helping to recycle all cardboard, paper and plastic containers. Our centre also encourages children to develop a bond with the natural environment through gardening, sorting, observing, creating and participating in a program that utilize natural mediums.
